A consultant on research and development in traditional Chinese furniture, for a "Wood Workshop", in charge of " Design and Cultural Studies Workshop" and Project Director (Art & Design Culture) - Joint Publishing (HJK) Company Limited.

Since the publication of his first book, " Chinese Wooden Architecture", Chiu Kwong Chiu has been attempting to use the computer to explore the bounds of Chinese traditional visual art as well as to adopt ground-breaking ways to interpret and promote Chinese art and culture. Nowadays, the focal point of his research consists of 2 main areas: The Great Forbidden City Series and National Arts Series. The former focuses on the ancient imperial world in order to understand Chinese traditional philosophy and classical art and culture. The latter focuses on the daily lives of ordinary people in ancient China in order to gain insight into the reasons and meanings of traditional designs.
Moreover, Chiu Kwong Chiu founded the " Design and Cultural Studies Workshop". He provides guidance and leadership in the important areas of research, interpretation and promotion of traditional and contemporary design as well as Chinese culture.
Members of the workshop mainly consists of graduates of the School of Design - the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. They are all enthusiasts who are actively involved in the arts scene, design industries or education. Since 2001, the group has participated in different activities, seminars and projects utilizing its expertise.
