Deputy Director, The Tate, UK

Alex Beard is Deputy Director of The Tate and is responsible for all aspects of Tate's business performance, including resources, fundraising, trading, government relations, and development projects. He joined The Tate in 1994, starting as Finance Director, and then moving progressively into more general resource management and business development. Prior to this, Beard was Head of Business Assessment of the Arts Council of England, responsible for assessing organisations in receipt of long term Arts Council funding.

Beard is also a member of the National Campaign for the Arts Directors Forum and Trustees of Global Giving. His areas of expertise/ interest include change management, business development, strategy formulation and execution.
