Prof. Lee Cheuk Yin received his B.A. (First Class Honours) and M.Phil from the Chinese Department, University of Hong Kong, and PhD from the Australian National University. A former Swire Scholar and Commonwealth Scholar, his research interests include Chinese intellectual history, culture, East-Asian Confucianism, and Chinese folk art and Customs. He joined the National University of Singapore in 1985 and has served as Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Director of the Centre for Research in Chinese Studies. He is presently Head of the Department of Chinese Studies. Prof Lee is concurrently Council Member of the Presidential Council for Religious Harmony of the Singapore Government, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Chinese Programmes of the Media Development Authority of Singapore, Member of the Chinese Language Curriculum and Pedagogy Review Committee of the Ministry of Education, Chairman of the Wu Teh Yao Memorial Fund, Member of Board of Directors of the Singapore Chinese Calligraphy Centre and Chairman of the Academic Section of the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations.
