Professor Gao Celi was born in 1964 in Shandong province, China. He received his master degree at Tongji University in 1987, obtained his PhD from Tsinghua University in 1995, and became the Associate Professor in 1996. From 1996-2000, he was the Vice-chairman of the Mathematics Department and the Vice-Chancellor of The High School Attached to Tsinghua University since December, 2004.

Professor Gao has devoted himself in university education, scientific research and management work over the years. He was the lecturer of about ten courses, participated in several research projects, and published more than 20 essays on academic research. He has initiated and supervised the translation and publication of two books and was the supervisor of 3 postgraduate students. He has also been receiving numerous awards from the university and the government.
