Founder and Director, The Long March Project, China
Lu Jie is the Founder and Director of the Long March Project, a widely acclaimed ongoing art project working to link Chinese and international artists across borders and regions. Long March Project has been exhibited in the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Oslo (2004); Museum of Contemporary Art, Lyon (2004); Shanghai Biennale 2004, China; Taipei Biennale 2004, Taiwan; Yokohama Triennale, 2005, Japan; the Vancouver Art Gallery, Canada (2005); and will also be featured in in the 27th Sao Paulo Biennale 2006 and the Asia-Pacific Triennial 2006, Brisbane, Australia.
Lu has curated numerous contemporary art exhibitions in Asia, Europe and North America, including the Chinese presentation at The Second International Biennale of Contemporary Art, National Gallery, Prague (2005) and the Yokohama Triennale 2005, Japan. He is also the founder of the Long March Space in Beijing, which serves as an international and local platform for practice and dialogue within the dynamically developing art world in China through exhibitions, research, publication and residency programs. Lu is the author and editor of 17 monographs on Chinese contemporary art and artists.
