Assistant Director-General, Intellectual Property Office of Singapore

Mr. Wong Sheng Kwai is currently the Assistant Director-General/Legal Counsel (Infrastructure Development Division), of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS). Mr. Wong is no newcomer to IPOS having started his career as a Legal Officer in the then Registry of Trade Marks and Patents way back in 1987. Since then, he has held various appointments in the Legal Service - Assistant Official Assignee/Official Receiver/Public Trustee, District Judge, State Counsel, Attorney-General's Chambers (Legislation Division) and Deputy Director, Legal Aid Bureau.

As ADG of the Infrastructure Development Division, Mr. Wong is overall in charge of the IPOS' awareness and education activities and the development of a conducive IP environment for enterprises in Singapore. He has helped to put in place contact programmes and platforms to reach out to a wide array of audiences ranging from the general public to the education, R & D, professional and business sectors. These programmes seek to raise awareness, capabilities and business opportunities for IP among the various target audiences.
