Independent Curator and Critic, Australia/Thailand
David Teh is an independent curator, critic and lecturer based in Bangkok, Thailand. His background is in the history, theory and philosophy of art and visual culture, with an emphasis on theories of modernity and postmodernity. Teh has lectured in new media art and theory at the College of Fine Arts of the University of New South Wales, and at the University of Sydney. He was a founder and moderator of the Fibreculture mailing list for critical internet culture, and is also a director of the Sydney Artist-Run Initiative Half Dozen. He has recently curated Prospectus: projections in new media', an exhibition of Australian digital video art; and Year of the Dog, at Gallery 4a of the Asia Australia Art Centre in Sydney. In 2005, Teh took up an Asialink Arts Management Residency at Thailand's Office of Contemporary Art and Culture. His current Bangkok project is Platform, a two-part exhibition featuring emerging Thai artists working in non-traditional media, at the Queen's Gallery and The Art Center, Chulalongkorn University.
