Artistic Co-Director, The Substation, Singapore
Lee Weng Choy is an art critic and artistic co-director of The Substation arts centre in Singapore. He has lectured on art and cultural studies, convened several international conferences, and written widely on contemporary art in Singapore. Over the last two decades his essays have appeared in Art and AsiaPacific, Broadsheet, ForumoOn Contemporary Art & Society, Positions: East Asia Cultures Critique, Over Here: International Perspectives on Art and Culture, and Theory in Contemporary Art. Lee is on the academic advisory board of the Asia Art Archive, and is currently collaborating with them on Comparative Contemporaries, a website anthology project about art writing from the region.
