As one of the core arts and cultural facilities in West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD), Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) is a collaborative cultural project between West Kowloon Cultural District Authority and Palace Museum (PM) in Beijing. Officially opened to the public in July 2022, HKPM aspires to become one of the world’s leading cultural institutions committed to the study and appreciation of Chinese art and culture, while advancing international cultural exchange and collaboration through partnerships. Embracing new curatorial approaches, HKPM will offer a Hong Kong perspective and a global vision, presenting the finest objects, such as painting, calligraphy, the decorative arts, and rare books from the PM collection and other leading cultural institutions around the world.

Opened in November 2021, M+ Museum in WKCD is one of the largest museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron in partnership with TFP Farrells and Arup, the building is composed of a podium and a slender tower that fuse into the shape of an upside-down ‘T’. The expansive podium cantilevers above ground and includes 17 000 square metres of exhibition space across thirty-three galleries, three cinemas, a mediatheque, a learning hub, and a roof garden that faces Victoria Harbour. M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Cultural Ministers or heads of delegations will speak on the Ministerial Panel on any issues or topics related to their countries' latest cultural development and strategies.

A live performance embracing contemporary and traditional musical ideas from East and West, immersing with multimedia visual effects to showcase the diversities of Hong Kong talents.

Instead of seeing heritage merely as a masterpiece of the past to be preserved, recent research on the one hand pays particular attention to its dynamic nature and potentials to reinvent itself in an ever-changing world, and on the other hand demonstrates how it provides social and cultural resources for local communities to shape and to sustain their identities and unique ways of life. This plenary with four presentations addresses from different perspectives the development of Hong Kong's diverse and valuable heritage assets which continue to exert great impact on Hong Kong people's everyday life. While the presentation of Professor LEE Chack-fan, G.B.S., J.P. shows the growth of traditional Chinese culture in Hong Kong, Professor Puay-peng HO, J.P., Ms Cordelia CHUNG and Ms Doris KWAN's presentations highlight the achievements of different conservation projects of architectural heritage. Professor Heather HUGHES' presentation provides concluding remarks by overviewing the key issues facing cultural heritage organisations amidst the so-called "culture wars".

International Arts Leadership Roundtable 2022 (ADC Roundtable) brings together arts leaders from different parts of the world to discuss prevailing global arts topics and trends through sharing of case studies and experience in respective regions, and formulate strategies to meet future growths.

Pokfulam Village is an indigenous village on Hong Kong Island, which has existed since the 17th century. Many villagers remain in the village today. Mid-Autumn Festival - Pok Fu Lam Fire Dragon Dance is also one of the 20 items on the first Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Hong Kong.

To celebrate 25A, the Art Promotion Office and Science Promotion Unit of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will join hands with private entities including K11 Concepts, Kerry Group and Sino Group to launch the “Art@Harbour” Project on both sides of the waterfront of Victoria Harbour from June to December 2022.

The project aims to bring a refreshing experience of new art trends in public spaces and reinvigorate our smart city in the making with imagination and vitality, injecting creative and positive energy to the harbour fronts and the city. Large-scale outdoor installations of aesthetically appealing and interactive site-specific works to explore art, science, and technology will be featured on the two sides of Victoria Harbour to enhance the public’s enjoyment of the waterfront, as well transforming the venues into new leisure attractions.
