Ms. Keum-jin Yoon is the current director of the Korea Foundation Cultural Center in Seoul, Korea. Ms. Yoon started her career at the International Cultural Society of Korea, in 1985, where she focused mainly on organization of the International Folklore Festivals, in 1986 and 1988, in conjunction with the CIOFF and Seoul Olympic Organizing Committee. After ICSK was incorporated into the Korea Foundation, a nonprofit, public international exchange organization, she organized the International Folklore Festival, as part of the Daejeon EXPO 1993.
During her 24-year career, Ms. Yoon has overseen various programs of the Foundation, including the Invitation Program, Publication and Distribution of Materials Program, Overseas Museum Support Program, and Exhibition and Performance Program, with a majority of her time being spent in the area of Cultural Exchange. As a result of these experiences, she has served as a member of advisory committees related to the Korean Culture Policy Institute, Promotion of Traditional Performing Arts of Korea Project, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Korea Local Authority Foundation for International Relations. During 2004-05, she conceptualized a new project to facilitate interactive cultural understanding and to enhance cultural diversity, which led to the establishment of the Korea Foundation Cultural Center. At this Center, Ms. Yoon has organized Indian Buddhist Sculpture Exhibition, Masterpieces of World Ceramics for V&A Exhibition, Latin American Contemporary Exhibition, and the Seoul International Music Festival.
Ms. Yoon is a graduate of Ewha Womans University and its Graduate School, where she majored in Linguistics, and Graduate School of Culture and Arts, Dankook University, and is now a Ph.D. candidate at Hanyang University.
