Mr. Raman HUI(Director / Animator) |

Mr. Raman Hui has dedicated over twenty years of his life to the art of animation. As an animation director, he insists on the importance of observing life in all its visual and emotional majesty. For Hui, the aim to imaginatively re-create spontaneity of natural movements is what makes animation a challenging, but wondrous art form. A painstaking respect for integrity of personality and behaviour consistently underscores his talent to conceive universally relevant stories that are populated by casts of charismatic characters. His significant works include Antz, Shrek, which is an Academy Award®-winning blockbuster; Shrek 2, the highest-grossing animated film of all time; Shrek the Third, Hui's co-directing debut; Secrets of the Furious Five, the Kung Fu Panda animated short, and Sleepy Guy, etc. Sleepy Guy has received awards at the London Animation Festival, the Niccograph in Japan, the US International Film & Video Festival, and won the first place at Imagina in 1995. In 2007, Hui was conferred the ShoWest Best Animation Director Award.
